PERMANENT COSMETIC MAKEUP

Today more woman are opting for the convenience of a “wash and wear” face, with eyebrows and eyeliner that never smudge and lip color that doesn’t wear off.  Permanent makeup is the perfect solution for the woman who is busy, athletic, has little or no eyebrows, is allergic to conventional makeup, or has trouble seeing well enough to apply her makeup.

Dawn Poirier, President of Serenity Skincare, practices micro pigmentation and brings with her 19 years of experience as a professional makeup artist and a licensed skincare specialist. Her creative ability is apparent by her skill in applying permanent makeup to create your desired perfect look. Clients of all ages are referred to her from salons, spas, and physicians.

Dawn uses micro-mechanical methods to apply permanent makeup for total control of the procedure. A special cosmetic pigment is placed just below the surface of the skin by using an etching motion. It can be loosely compared to the sensation of having one’s eyebrows tweezed.

All materials, including needles and pigment containers, are sterile and disposable. She has total control over the pigment placement to produce a fine, natural look.

Dawn recommends that permanent makeup should be applied as an enhancement to your natural features and not as conventional makeup that would become outdated as trends change.

Microblading: Unlike eyebrow “tattooing”, microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic technique used for creating and filling in eyebrows. A sterilized, handheld microblade tool applies pigment with tiny needles in individual strokes, creating fine lines of color that resemble extremely lifelike hair. Pigment is inserted into just the dermal layer of the skin, therefore it’s far less painful than a tattoo and will also fade in 1-3 years.

Touch ups: Less than 1 year of initial procedure with Dawn is $350
*Touch ups on unknown pigment $400
All other touch ups are considered COLOR BOOST @ $400

Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS PERMANENT MAKEUP?
This medically developed procedure is a method of implanting color pigments into your skin to create a lasting cosmetic effect. Makeup can be as soft or dramatic as you like.

WHY USE PERMANENT MAKEUP?
It gives you the freedom to swim, exercise, and even cry – without worrying about your makeup smearing or coming off!
· Saves you time in your daily grooming routine!
· Allows you the option to enhance your natural features or to create a dramatic effect. The choice is up to you!
· Is perfect for the woman who is allergic to standard cosmetics on the market!
· Ideal for the woman who is hindered by poor eyesight!

HOW LONG DOES PERMANENT MAKEUP LAST?
The treatment is permanent. It will not wash off. However, it will soften with age, sun, skin peel and cleansing lotions, which may require retouching.

HOW LONG DOES THE PROCESS TAKE?
Most sessions involve one to two hours per procedure. You are not limited to one procedure, you may choose to have several at the same time.

DOES THE PROCEDURE HURT?
Comfort levels vary from person to person. New topical anesthetics are used for numbing that makes the procedure more comfortable.

IS IT SAFE?
Yes, the permanent makeup procedure is applied under strict sterilization rules. A professionally, trained, certified technician administers the procedure. All materials are properly disposed and never reused.

IS IT A FORM OF TATOO?
Permanent Makeup is similar but a tattoo goes into the third (dermal) layer of the skin and uses indigo or pelican inks. Permanent makeup is applied to the second layer of the skin (dermis). These pigments hold true to color and will not turn the skin blue or pink like tattoo dyes will.

CAN I RETURN TO WORK OR GO OUT IN PUBLIC IMMEDIATELY?
Yes, you may have some swelling or puffiness. Your eyes will look like you have had a good cry. This may last a couple of days only. The intensity of your permanent makeup for the first week or so will be much stronger than the final color up to 50% more intense. You will be given instructions on how to care for your procedure to minimize any temporary inconvenience.
